What You’ll Do

As a Photonics Characterization Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, measuring and analyzing photonic devices and systems to support the development of cutting-edge photonics technologies for sustainable data centers. You will work closely with our R&D team to conduct experiments, optimize measurement setups and interpret results to drive innovation in high-speed optical communication. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform optical and electrical characterization of photonic devices and integrated circuits.

  • Set up, operate and optimize measurement equipment, including optical spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes and network analyzers.

  • Analyze and interpret measurement data to evaluate device performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assist in developing and refining test methodologies for photonic component characterization.

  • Work closely with the R&D team to support experimental setups and troubleshooting.

  • Document test procedures, results and technical reports to contribute to product development.

  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement setups through calibration and validation.

  • Collaborate with engineers and researchers to improve photonic system performance.

  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.

Who You are

You are a photonics engineer or experimental scientist with at least two years of hands-on lab experience in optical systems and photonic device characterization. You have a strong understanding of optical measurement techniques and are proficient in using optical and electrical test equipment. Your programming skills in MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python enable you to analyze and interpret experimental results effectively. A problem-solver with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, you excel in team environments, clearly documenting findings and collaborating to drive innovation.
